I guess this is my first blog post on this website. I originally intended to NOT make this a blog... but I don't really see much harm in talking about my life, to the degree and in the form I prefer to.
I guess something notable that happened in my life recently was randomly becoming more secure with identifying as a woman, after trying to transition for almost four years (well, about two and a half years of actually telling people about it). I think a lot of this has to do with my preferred pronouns getting more traction due to the actions of some nicer people in my life. I'm also getting less shy with correcting people and don't care as much if it's a slight inconvenience for them (people usually don't take being told they're wrong very well, in my experience). I wish I had transitioned when I was younger, but at least I am living my life now, and I am much happier because of it (though, I could have stopped trying to be a man earlier, and it would have probably saved me a hernia and stubbornly muscular upper arms. Dating would have also probably been easier, as that has become much easier after coming out. Turns out trying to date as a straight cis-gendered man when you aren't one doesn't really work too well. It's also hard to want to enter a relationship where you're going to fill the role of a man in a heterosexual dyad, but you aren't one and don't want to identify as one).
In other news, I have noticed that in public I am starting to pass better, which has both good and bad consequences. I am still getting a feel for my fashion sense (mostly with my hair and makeup). My voice training is improving, but it's been taking me a while (like about a year and a half at this point). I think I was trying to speak in a fem voice that didn't feel natural (the one I was taught how to speak in by Youtube), but I've found a few ranges that seem more natural to me and are easier to speak in reliably. I'm also afraid of using my fem voice in serious situations until I can be certain that the voice that's going to come out sounds okay.
Other than that, life is becoming much quieter now that I've taken a bunch of apps off my phone. My passive scrolling was getting out of hand and I could easily find myself scrolling for two hours, when I literally just went to check someone's story (or just check my emails honestly). Part of me wishes I could just get a flip phone, but the other part of me knows that it would just make me have to carry like five devices everywhere I go instead.
